Mia's birth day!

If you don't like birth stories you might want to skip this post...And it's LONG!!

Since I feel somewhat at a normal state (hallelujah!!) 2 weeks and a 3 days has gone by since Miss Mia's birth I figured its time to share her birth story before I forget all the details. But first I had to post the old belly pics for my future reference since this is sort of my journal.

About a week before her due date, I went to my doctor apt and he assured me he was confident I wouldn't make it to my due date (Aug 2nd). So that day I was over joyed and had a perma smile. I think I even got home and went to the mall with the family to do some walking. That whole week seemed the longest week of my life. I tried everything to go into labor and nothing worked.
That next week at my apt. the doctor told me he didn't want me to wait to go into labor for too long but I really wanted to go into labor on my own so he said Sunday would be the latest he would let me go. That day we set an induction date for Sunday just in case..

The morning of Sunday August 5Th at 7am the Hospital called to tell me to come in at noon.
So excited and a little bummed that I was getting induced BUT also excited too because I knew what to expect with inductions ( I had been induced with all my kiddos.)
Got ready and did some laundry/ cleaning done. Also my mother-in-law was there to stay at the house to watch the kids. Nate and I left to go to hospital and then a quick pit stop to Einstein bagels for breakfast.

Arrive to Centennial Hills hospital at noon get hooked up with an IV and pitocin and was still only dilated to a two. At around 2pm I start to have very mild contractions and my nurse recommend I get the epidural before she break my water. 3 or 4pm got the epidural and now dilated still to a five. Then she broke my water and it had a lot meconium in it. Nate and I are both relieved that I was induced that day.
My nurse kept on checking me every30 min and no progression still at a five
Stayed at a five almost the whole time. She finally checked me again an hour later and tried to stretch my cervix out. 5pm feeling it bit stronger contractions but nothing is changing and dilated to a 5.
Around 6pm Nurse has me lay on my left side hoping that will progress things.
My mother in law, my kids, sister-in-law and brother-in-law show up to visit.
Starting to notice the numbing is leaving my left leg and I have feeling in it. Push the epidural button not much has changed. feeling a lot more intense contractions. By 7pm I'm
totally feeling major pressure and very uncomfortable when contractions come.
I decide to tell Nate that I feel crazy pressure/uncomfortable so I call the nurse. At that time My other nurse had left to go home and I had a new nurse come in. She checks me and the baby is crowning and I am at a 10.
She calls doc and he will be 10min. and it's the longest 10min of my LIFE!
Every contraction I have I feel like I need to hold her back inside me...so uncomfortable. The doctor finally arrives and I am ready. I am not even looking at the contraction monitor but every contractions I am telling them "Ok, here comes another contraction!" and I started pushing with their ok. I realize the epidural is partially working. My last epidurals I couldn't even feel contraction or lift my legs and this one was so different.
I push my hardest for about 4 or 5 times and no baby out. I think about 4 or 5 more pushes and I felt a crazy/hurting pressure and all I wanted was to get her out. Then while I am pushing my hardest I feel so much pressure and it's starting to hurt I hear everyone say "open your eyes!" I open my eyes and he lifts up the most beautiful baby. She came out perfect and instantly I am relieved that she has all fingers and toes. No cone head or smashed face and she is more beautiful then I imagined.
They put her on my chest and it is the best feeling in the world. Her little fingers are long and perfect. Her features are so tiny and I am still at awe that she just came out of my belly. I am instantly in love! They clean her up and give her back to me and she smells so good and baby fresh. They bring in Boston and Lila to see her. They seem a little confused that she is out of my belly. Lila calls the baby "my moms baby!". I think Boston was more worried about me because I had really bad shaking afterward and I was hooked up to all the IV's. I noticed a few minutes after that they were getting more excited to meet her and happy. They have transitioned so well and have been really sweet with her. They both love giving her kisses and holding her.
She has been such a calm baby and when shes awake always looking around. I'm so happy shes here in my arms and for the first time I don't miss being pregnant. Nothing is better then having your body back HA!!! and this time around I feel like recovery was super speedy.
more updates to come!
